Summary Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately January through mis December, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year. Responsibilities Major Duties of this position include: Incumbent performs and occasionally leads lower-graded workers in the maintenance, repair, restoration, rehabilitation, construction and stabilization of trails and related public use facilities. Incumbent performs carpentry and dry-stone masonry work at the sub-journeyman level to construct, stabilize, and maintain trail erosion controlling structures. This position is required to operate and maintain a variety of power tools and hand tools such as Pionjars, rigging equipment, chainsaws, shovels, rock bars, picks, single-jack hammers, levels, chisels, tape measures, etc. Incumbent works safely around pack and draft stock and able to assist Animal Packers in packing tools, equipment, and dirt and rock for trail maintenance and construction projects. Incumbent is capable of performing strenuous activity, hikes up to 20 miles and frequently lifts and carries objects weighing 100 pounds or more. Area Information: Saguaro National Park consists of two districts which are separated by the city of Tucson, Arizona, a metropolitan area of over 900,000. The park has 91,446 acres, of which 78% is designated Wilderness, yet it is directly influenced by the surrounding growth and development of Tucson. The impacts of large numbers of residents immediately adjacent to the boundary of the park, when combined with the workload generated by over 700,000 visitors per year, places major emphasis upon the effective execution of visitor services and resources protection operations as well as their coordination in an interagency/interjurisdictional environment. Physical Demands: Heavy physical effort is required in bending, lifting, and using hand and power tools in trail work. Examples of typical strenuous activity include: Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing over 100 pounds, must carry and roll rocks and logs, move rocks of several tons with rock bars, use hammers to crush or shape rock, and use shovel extensively. Frequently hikes up to 20 miles daily and must be able to do so while carrying a backpack, power and/or hand tools. Working Conditions: Incumbent must have the ability to live and work effectively in backcountry areas in close contact with small numbers of people for extended periods of time. Incumbent must live and work out-of-doors on projects in various terrain up to 13,000 feet elevation in all extremes of adverse weather conditions. Trail work is dusty, and hazardous conditions may exist when moving rocks and logs, working in and around rockslide areas, working around stock, working around explosives, falling and bucking trees, and working around machinery. The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are not suitable for telework. Documentation for the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) eligibility, submission of ALL SF-50s and performance information for each period of temporary/term employment that qualifies for LMWFA. Performance documentation can be obtained by contacting the supervisors for the positions you served in during your 24 months. About the Responsibilities

As a Pumping Plant Maintenance Worker (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/capaz/classspecs/735745?keywords=maintenance%20worker%20&pagetype=classSpecifications) , you would perform manual labor and craft helper associated with operation and maintenance of four pumping plants and associated aqueduct facilities. Some of these functions will involve carpentry, concrete, protective coating, pest management, welding, environmental compliance, coordination with outside vendors, equipment operations or equipment repair, and janitorial work. You would load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site following guidance of written work order or oral instructions. This work contributes to the efficient and reliable operation of CAP pumping plants, aqueduct, related facility, and supports the reliable delivery of water to CAP customers. Some specific responsibilities include using small hand and power tools to perform routine maintenance tasks, performing data entry into data base for storage, driving and/or operating vehicles, overhead bridge crane, & man lifts. Maintenance Technician- Nights

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in-depth

troubleshooting and repair. The Maintenance Technician performs troubleshooting and repair of all

production equipment including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers,

conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. The Maintenance Technician also performs

troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, such as chillers, air compressors,

Reverse Osmosis, other water filtration equipment and general maintenance of the plant. The

Maintenance Technician works directly with machine Operators, Supervisors, Preventative Maintenance

Mechanics and Sr. Maintenance Technicians to resolve mechanical issues that arise during shift. The

Maintenance Technician proposes solutions to complex and reoccurring problems on production

equipment to Sr. Mechanics and Management to resolve issues.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical

drawings and testing equipment

• Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at facility

• Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes

• Maintain industrial control systems

• Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs in a safe and timely manner

+ May fill in for production operator as needed

• Create and report repairs throughout shift. Complete required work order paperwork, document parts

and material usage

• Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
