    Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer will produce machined parts by programming, if qualified, setting up, and/or operating either a conventional, numerical control (NC), or computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintain quality and safety standards; precisely follow job packet requirements; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies; communicate effectively and work productively with Engineers, maintenance personnel, and other operators/programmers. Perform machining tasks to tight tolerance, minimize scrap and rework, perform PMs on regular basis, lead machine safety and workplace compliance requirements, always demonstrate professional conduct, maintain an inventory of tooling and fixtures, work effectively with vendors in ordering and acquiring tooling.

    You will have the opportunity to:

    + Plan and review machine job by reviewing job packets, engineering drawing, dimensional specification and tolerance, machining operating parameters and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)

    + Step- up machines, operate machines using established protocols, perform dimensional measurements to fill production orders

    + Perform daily inspection of machines to ensure operating at optimal condition and help operates and shift supervisor troubleshoot machine issues

    + Support or lead root causes analysis and implement assigned corrective actions

    + Perform assigned operational machine preventative machines

    + Complete batch documentation (operation reports, quality logs and SAP entry)

    + Optimize machine operation to reduce cycle time and reduce defects

    **This position will be on 3rd shift hours, Sunday night - Thursday night, 11pm - 7am**

    Position Summary

    With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.

    Responsibilities

    + Make simple setups and perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts. Make minor adjustments and report improper machine functioning or cutting action for correction.

    + Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed.

    + Set feeds, speeds and depth of cut to machine quality parts.

    + Perform operations such as reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring.

    + Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surfaces.

    + Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts.

    + Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gages or other measuring instruments.

    + Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.

    + Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

    + Perform other related responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    + HS diploma or equivalent.

    + Minimum 4-7 years general or related machine shop experience

    + Manual Lathe experience

    + Must demonstrate manual dexterity.

    + Must be able to read and understand blueprints.

    + Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.

    + Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
