    **SUMMARY**

    The **Critical Operations Technician I** is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of IT, electrical, mechanical, plumbing/piping equipment, machinery and controls located in the interior and exterior of building. This role monitors operations and conducts a routine and ongoing assessment of the building systems, operations, and performance. This role performs tests, rounds and analyzes data to ensure the proper functioning of departmental equipment. The role is also responsible for assisting customers on the Data Center floor both in person and via the telephone, performing customer equipment installs, managing tickets within the ticketing system, communicating and escalating alerts and customer requests to systems engineers for resolution, and completing tasks pertaining to computer hardware, software or operation systems. This role requires on-site work hours to support a 24X7X365 data center environment and is not eligible for remote and/or hybrid work.

    **RESPONSIBILITIES,** other duties may be assigned.

    + Applies learning, knowledge, skills, and company policies to a wide range of tasks pertaining to IT, electrical and mechanical equipment, controls, and operating systems.

    + Leads, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment; records readings and adjusts where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.

    + Provide remote hands and eyes services for customers.

    + Provide high level computer hardware and software configuration support. Install suite wall, cage material, ladder rack, fiber tray, cabinets, cabling, and customer equipment based on documentation provided by provisioning documentation and established Data Center Operation procedures.

    + Installs and repairs IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment as required; assists other team members with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment.

    + Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance on critical, building, and site infrastructure. Consults with supervisor or team lead to order necessary tools and equipment as required to complete all maintenance and perform necessary work.

    + Create and/or update tickets within the established ticketing system to address customer calls, data center facility, network and/or system related alerts.

    + Operates and monitors critical and non-critical system equipment and components to ensure safe and compliant operation.

    + Responds as required to building emergencies and customer requests.

    + Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

    + Uses the Change Management Process to get approval for preventative and corrective maintenance. Commences & completes the maintenance along with the necessary documentation using the QTS process and software.

    **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

    · Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency

    · Background in areas of IT, electrical, and/or mechanical

    · Proficiency with MS Office Suite

    A Parks Maintenance Worker II works independently while performing a variety of semiskilled to skilled tasks in two or more trades or skill areas, such as carpentry, welding, electrical, masonry, painting, or plumbing for the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of facilities, fixtures, and equipment at City parks, basins, golf courses, athletic/sports fields, and other recreational areas, including, but not limited to: chain link fence repair and installation; and repair of parks, playgrounds, golf courses, stadium structures, facilities, and related equipment.     Athletic/Sports Field Maintenance Assignment: Employees assigned to athletic/sports field maintenance perform construction, maintenance, repair, field game preparation, and related service activities for the athletic fields including a variety of tasks in general trades and/or skilled maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of facilities, fixtures, and irrigation systems. Duties include: performing landscape maintenance at the stadium common areas and park; conducting safety inspections; independently scheduling or completing related repairs; performing athletic field game preps; advanced repair and programing of computerized irrigation systems; planning and organizing work activities; and applying fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides.

    This classification is distinguished from the next lower level, Parks Maintenance Worker I, by the advanced skill level and independence exercised by the Parks Maintenance Worker II. The Parks Maintenance Worker II class is distinguished from the next higher level, Trades Worker, by the latter's performance of the full-range of tasks of a trade at the journey-level and, with the exception of the combined trades of electricity and plumbing, performs nearly all of the work in one trade. Supervision is received from a Parks Maintenance Leader or Parks and Community Facilities Maintenance Foreman (depending on assignment) who reviews work through observation, conferences, reports, and spot checking of results achieved. Employees are required to use appropriate safety equipment and procedures in performing assignments. A Parks Maintenance Worker II may be subject to yearly rotational stand-by duty and 24-hour call-out; working evenings, early mornings, and weekend shifts. This class is FLSA nonexempt.

    + Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers

    **Qualifications:**

    • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred

    • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)

    • Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools)
