Overview

There’s a reason Amazon has been ranked among the best workplaces in the world. It’s a commitment to our employees, our customers, our communities, the environment, and the world. Everyday we strive to be Earth’s Best (and Safest) Employer. What does that mean for you, someone considering not just a job, but a career at Amazon? We hope it is everything you’re expecting – and more.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We believe that building a culture that is welcoming and inclusive is integral to people doing their best work and is essential to what we can achieve as a company. We actively recruit candidates through our partnerships with historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, and women’s colleges. We have over 40,000 veterans and military spouses working at Amazon. Leadership Support: As a leading U.S. employer, we have an important role to play in providing Amazonians access to the education and training they need to grow their careers. Over the next five years, Amazon is dedicating over $700 million to provide 100,000 employees, roughly a third of our U.S. workforce, with access to training programs. We’re launching, scaling and investing in skills training programs that support employees across our corporate offices, tech hubs, fulfillment centers, retail stores and transportation networks. Small and large, the programs meet our employees where they are – providing opportunities for Amazonians to get trained at their place of work and in high-demand areas like medicine, cloud computing, and machine learning. Safety: The health and safety of our employees has always been Amazon’s top priority. We work closely with health and safety experts and scientists. We conduct thousands of safety inspections each day in our buildings. And we’ve made hundreds of changes as a result of employee feedback on how we can improve their well-being at work. In 2020 Amazon invested over $11.5 billion on COVID-related initiatives to keep employees safe and get products to customers. This includes investments related to COVID-19 safety measures such as personal protective equipment, enhanced cleaning of our facilities, processes that allow for effective social distancing, higher wages for hourly teams, and developing our own COVID-19 testing capabilities.

In 2019, Amazon co-founded The Climate Pledge—a commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across our business by 2040 and to invite others to sign on to this new level of ambition. As part of our path to the Pledge, Amazon has made significant commitments toward reaching our goal.
