Detox Technician

We achieve this by offering multiple levels of care along with medical services, evidence-based professional counseling, case management, housing assistance, employment assistance, and more.

Job Summary
The Detox Technician monitors clients, communicates and documents all occurrences, and assist nursing staff in helping to provide a safe, caring environment in which the clients can recover. The Detox Technicians are the lead role models in helping the clients to rebuild new lives. Requires maintaining a positive, productive attitude, even when clients may be argumentative or non-compliant.

Duties/Responsibilities
Detox Technician duties are only intended to provide a general outline of the duties of a Detox Floor Technician at Axiom Care Detox Facility.

- Monitor/ supervise clients from admission through discharge while on Axiom property
- Obtain Vital signs, UAs, BAL
- Document personal property for storage and store properly
- Create ROIs for clients HIPPA protection
- Communicates with RN and assists with any patient needs
- Prepare for and facilitate psychoeducational group sessions.
- Assess clients for appropriate group participation.
- Ensure that clients adhere to facility rules. Guidance and assurance of program guidelines and requirements
- Support & Intervention - verbally support clients as needed in times of confusion, discontent, and disappointment, helping them to understand the value of the treatment experience while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- De-escalation of situations through nonviolent crisis interventions and personal commitment to their wellbeing.
- Record Keeping/Documentation – daily shift reports, client behavioral incidents and any consequences given to clients or turned in to staff, maintenance needs, forms or documents used by Axiom during a treatment episode.
- Perform inventory on supplies as needed. Making sure all supplies are kept adequately stocked and being certain to inform appropriate parties when supplies are low.
- Computer filing into electronic medical record.
- Prepare rooms/units for new clients - When a client discharges treatment, his/her room/chair must be prepared for the next client, including but not limited to laundry, bedding, sanitizing all areas.
- Obtain clinical supervision from DON, per facility requirements.
- Help maintain a clean facility being sure that all trash is emptied, staff areas are kept clean and tidy, outside facility areas are kept debris free, IE: cigarette butts, fallen fruit, cups or any other items not in their appropriate place. General housekeeping as needed.

Requirements
- High school Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred but not required: Current Medical Assistant Certificate in the State of Arizona
- Detox: 1 year (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Windows, basic email, Microsoft Word, timekeeping software, and basic computer navigational skills.
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
- Ability to write professional correspondence and reports free from grammatical and spelling mistakes.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret emails, letters, policies, procedures, etc.
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Team player
- High level of patience
- Active CPR and First Aid certification required (may be provided by Axiom).
- Active Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Negative TB Test result within past 12 months
- Current season's influenza vaccination
