Description:

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

PURPOSE The Operator Heavy Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for maintaining large mobile

mining equipment (end-dump trucks, dozers, front-end loaders, graders and others) in a limestone quarry and

also performs a variety of maintenance and housekeeping tasks. All duties are performed in a safe manner.

Plant safety rules are followed and the individual works as a team member.

● Demonstrates a commitment to communicating and improving and adhering to safety policies in all

working areas.

● Performs routine troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance of heavy mobile mining equipment

and light duty support equipment.

● Maintains detailed records of equipment readiness.

● Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.

● Must be willing to accept change and strive for improvement.

● Tasks and equipment needs change as per cement plant requirements; therefore, individuals must

possess a variety of task skills.

● Complies with all applicable safety, environmental, compliance and legal regulations.

● Ability to work within a team environment as well as work independently and be a self-starter.

● Communicates effectively and timely with quarry staff, quarry coordinator and quarry manager.

● Performs other duties as assigned as time permits or as assigned. RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER

JOBS This position will work with Operators and anagement as well as customers. They will

communicate and work together to insure the customer’s needs are met in a safety and constructive manner.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:**

+ KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

+ Required Education: High school diploma/GED. Required Experience: 2 years of prior heavy equipment mechanical experience. Required License: valid Commercial Driver’s License.

+ Required Computer skills: Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office and SAP

+ Travel Requirement: Local

+ Travel may be required.

+ Additional Requirements:

+ ASE Certified in Heavy Equipment Maintenance preferred.

+ Willingness to work any shift and shift rotations.

+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety andenvironmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

+ Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.

+ Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator sealmeets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
