Environmental Service Technician/ Janitorial Service Technician

***Shift Available : Sunday-Wednesday 7am-5:30pm***

JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental Services Technician will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and providing a clean and safe environment within our healthcare spaces. preventing the spread of any diseases by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and furniture. Responsibilities will also include supporting the operations by providing support with patient nutrition service that will include heating food, restocking nutrition supplies and logging temperatures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Performing a range of cleaning tasks like mopping and sweeping
Replenishing all janitorial supplies, including soap and sanitizers
Empty all trashes in patient and staff areas, following specific behavioral health protocols for supplies and materials
Refilling toilet paper and other paper products as needed
Clean and sanitize recliners after patient discharges, as well as chairs/tables
Mop and sweep floors to ensure all spaces are safe to walk
Dust window sills and wipe down windows
Disinfecting and sanitizing all lobby furniture
Disinfect walls, door knobs/handles and other high-traffic areas as needed
Maintain cleanliness in all assigned areas and assist in any additional janitorial duties as required.
Cleans and removes outdated and expired items from staff breakrooms
Clean, dry and put away all breakroom dishes, utensils, etc.
Complete daily exterior walk of building and removes all trash, cigarette butts, etc. to maximize the appearance of the building
Available via walkie-talkie for all staff to contact in the event of an emergency spill/cleanup
Maintain professional attitude and ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, contractors, and co-workers.
Major emphasis on cleanliness and sanitization in a behavioral health setting
Follow OSHA requirements, while maintaining a clean, sanitary and safe environment in all areas of the facility
Follow all company procedures to maintain work environment in a neat and orderly condition while maintaining the facility within all regulatory entities, including but not limited to OSHA, ADHS, and CARF.

Nutrition Services

Organize, restock/replenish all patient snacks
Cleans and removes outdated and expired items from Patient Nutrition room and rotates refrigerated items
Sanitizes all countertops, sinks, and equipment
Dispose of any expired/spoiled fruit or perishable food items
Take inventory of weekly items needing to be ordered by facilities coordinator
Combine daily meals and prepare for clinical staff to serve while following the menu and nutritional guideline provided from nutrition vendor
Heat and prepare prepackaged meals for patients
Monitor and track temperature logs on refrigerators and freezers
Other duties may be assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
Valid Arizona Driver’s License in good standing.
Must have a level one fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain
Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations related to the health, safety, and sanitation of the healthcare facility
Ability to stand, sit, walk, push and pull for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively between all sites and disciplines
Ability to obtain training certificate in Blood Borne Pathogens

Education or Experience:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Proven work experience as an Environmental Services Worker or similar role
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Food Handlers Card desired or willingness to obtain or willingness to obtain has context menu
