ABOUT THE ROLE
Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, products, and technologies. You will support products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, and testing, and may serve a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities (Primary)
Product Factory support engineering
Product Mechanical Design engineering focal
Product Field support engineering
Problem-solving / RCCA related to Factory and Fielded product issues
Piece part mechanical design, manufacture, and inspection focal for complex parts
Lead engineering documentation and configuration of products and product changes
Key Responsibilities (Secondary)
CAD-based modeling and drawing creation using PTC/Creo
Perform Engineering analyses (Tolerance stack-up, etc)
New product development (future)
Lead Stress and Thermal Analysis activities with analysis groups
Product Test and Certification
Program/Project Planning and Cost estimation
Communicate Product Mechanical Design activities and results to leadership
Value Engineering
Desirable Knowledge and Experience
Experience designing and supporting complex mechanical products, including electronic packaging and multi-axes positioners with motors, angular sensors, gearing, bearings and complex part design.
Experience with precision parts design, documentation, manufacturing, and inspection procedures.
Exceptional understanding of tolerancing, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
Experience designing circuit level and component level (waveguides, rotary joints) RF products and understanding basic RF principles relevant to part design
Developing products exposed to uncontrolled environments on aircraft
Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations, such as FAA, RTCA, and ARINC guidelines, relevant to aerospace engineering

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, the candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
10 years of relevant mechanical design experience
