Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Payload and Ground Systems Division in Azusa, CA, is seeking a Principal (Level 3) Facilities Engineer. This role will report on-site daily.

The successful candidate will communicate with customer and Azusa facility engineering team daily to determine project requirements and scope of work

The selected candidate plans, designs, reviews, manages, and oversees the construction, reconfiguration, maintenance, repair, alteration, and commissioning of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, utilities, plant support systems, and other components and aspects of commercial and industrial facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning buildings, facility, equipment or machinery specifications, applicable company or government restrictions, schedules and required completion dates, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with stakeholders and architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Interfaces with customers, architects/engineers, stakeholders (internal and external), and various municipalities and authorities. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisitions. Updates maintenance plans and drawings as needed. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction, installation and modification progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, budgets, plans, and schedules.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of related technical engineering and field experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM field & 3+ years of related technical engineering and field experience, OR a High School Diploma & 9+ years of related technical engineering and field experience.

+ Candidate must possess the knowledge, skills, and technical expertise in facilities construction, operation, major maintenance and/or renovation related fields.

+ Candidate must have experience in preparing statements of work, developing, managing, and tracking budgets, negotiations, and be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

+ Knowledge and experience using Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other field-related computer applications.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in a facilities engineering field.

+ Experience working in a production/manufacturing campus environment.

+ Education or experience related to electrical and/or mechanical engineering.

+ Active Security Clearance.

+ AutoCAD.

+ Experience operating in a Union environment.

**Salary Range:** $97,500 - $146,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
