JOB DESCRIPTION – INSTALLER - INST (Some travel required.)
Position Summary:
The Installer will interact directly with the Foreman, Field Superintendent, Project Manager, coworkers, and the client on unique projects to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and timeline. The Installer is responsible for executing a variety of general labor and specific trade work tasks including repetitious assembly and building activities, specific technical applications, and general supervision of temporary workers. Installers may be deployed to a variety of scopes of work including but not limited to robotics installations, shelving/racking/mezzanine/caster deck/guardrail/safety barrier/modular office assembly and installations, and be required to conduct activities such as staging, operational set up, floor engineering, hand and power tool operation, low voltage work, cable management, installing computer components and peripherals, inventory management, 5S taping, anchoring, and fabricating to ensure the successful execution of the project and customer satisfaction. Strong work ethic, positive attitude and promptness are key attributes of a successful Installer. The Installer’s job also includes ensuring that work process and quality supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

Primary Duties:
Operating material handling equipment including forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack and floor cleaner
Utilize and be responsible for equipment, tools, assets, and supplies to support execution of assignment
Be responsible for inventorying and staging, using effective space management as required by assignment
Setup and/or use software and hardware as required by assignment
Perform fastening and anchoring to various surfaces and substrates to meet project specifications and requirements
Take and/or apply accurate measurements
Perform volume installation and assembly of shelves, racks, conveyors, mezzanines, safety barriers, guard rails, caster decking and other various types of material handling systems
Perform component assembly accurately and efficiently per specifications
Apply 5S tape, stickers, and labels per assignment specifications and needs
Perform other duties as assigned

Immediately report all client interactions to supervisor
Be responsible for timely, accurate, and efficient time keeping
Responsible for caring for and maintaining lodging facilities associated with deployment
Attend all required internal and external business meetings and training
Consistently positively represent Culver through behavior, performance, and communication
Self-manage and self-report as situationally required
Perform side responsibilities as needed and requested by supervisor
Installer Levels:
Installer Level 1:
Entry level worker-based mentality with a focus on accurately meeting production goals
Can provide basic oversight of small groups of temporary workers
Demonstrates adequate but improving verbal and written communication skills
Can access and maneuver through basic apps such as Teams and email
Can identify and is aware of the primary use of baseline tools required for assignment
Is familiar with technical drawings and/or blueprints but may not yet effectively read/use them
Understands concepts of plumbing and shimming but has minimum experience
Understands concepts of material handling and staging but has minimum experience
Not very familiar with or efficient at basic fabrication concepts such as making basic cuts
Inexperienced at low voltage wiring and cable management
Understands some basic concepts of anchoring and can safely use tools associated with anchoring
Understands some concepts and expectations of the inventorying process but is limited in experience
Has limited or no experience in specific trade specific skills such as painting, welding etc.
Installer Level 2:
Motivated worker who demonstrates professional behavior and delivers consistent results
Effectively drives teams of temporary workers for efficient results
Consistently and effectively uses verbal and written communications skills
Can effectively and efficiently use all required functions of common apps such as Outlook, Teams, OneNote, ADP and has some understanding of some advanced functions of apps required for assignment
Understands applicability and can effectively and efficiently use all tools required for assignment
Understands and can effectively read/use technical drawings/blueprints
Understands and can effectively use a level and/or plumb bob and can effectively install and trim leveling shims as required
Can safely and efficiently move, hoist and stage palletized products, steel beams and other project specific materials. Understands the sequence of the build and can stage materials strategically and efficiently
Can make basic fabrication cuts and has some competency in achieving fine finishing
Limited experience with but understands the concepts of low voltage wiring and cable management
Understands the different styles and uses of anchors for specific assignments; can safely and effectively use associated tools and can efficiently anchor at an expected rate
Can safely and efficiently unload and stage shipped material and has experience with bill of lading activities
Has some experience but is not proficient in trade specific skills such as painting, welding etc.
Installer Level 3:
Self-sufficient and self-motivated worker with natural or developed leadership tendencies who leads by example in the areas of behavior, professionalism, and results
Coaches and motivates temporary employees for excellent and efficient results
Proficient verbal and written communicator who understands and communicates other’s perspectives
Highly competent with required apps and can effectively train others the nuances of a wide variety of tools and apps used throughout the organization
Proficient with commonly used tools and can demonstrate and teach others how to use them safely and effectively
Proficient in reading/using technical drawings/blueprints and able to teach others how to read/use them
Proficient at and able to teach the concept, expectation and execution of effective plumbing and shimming
Proficient at material handling and staging and can teach safety, efficiency, and staging concepts
Proficient at assignment specific fabrication and can coach others to achieving fine finished results
Experienced with low voltage wiring and proficient at cable management; able to teach others assignment specific expectations and techniques
Proficient in anchoring and using the tools associated with anchoring. Can teach anchoring techniques and the safe and effective operation of tools such as rotary hammers, impact, sledgehammer, and vacuum
Proficient and can teach inventorying concepts and expectations including the importance of accurate counts and document completion
Proficient at trade specific skills such as painting, welding etc.
Minimum Required Qualification:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Must have experience or competency of basic construction and assembly and associated tools and techniques
Must have knowledge of hardware, low voltage wiring and mechanical components (as required for specific scopes)
Must have valid I.D. permitting travel
Must have valid driver’s license when assigned to positions requiring driving
Must have and be able to use personal communication device for business communication responsibilities
Possess DOT card or the ability to obtain one when assigned to positions requiring DOT certification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn and use basic computer software applications
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
Exercise good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to remain composed and professional during stressful situations

Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED (additional education may be required for specific scopes)
1-year related experience preferred
Physical demands & work environment:
Frequent standing and walking
Consistent use of hands and the ability to reach with arms
Consistent use of fine motor skills using fingers to handle or feel
Occasionally required to sit
Required to be able to speak clearly and hear
Occasionally work at heights up to 40'
Repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds
Ability to squat, bend and kneel as a repetitive job action
Ability to work in adverse temperature conditions (hot and cold)
Ability to work in construction environments
Ability to work 12+ hour shifts
Position Type/Expected Work Hours:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are ultimately dictated per project. Some weekend or evening hours may be necessary.
Travel:
Most assignments require full time travel with deployment lengths up to 16-20 weeks at a time. Some assignments require less travel, but all Operations Installers must be prepared to travel as business dictates.
